Mellow Johnny's Bike Shop

Since its founding in May 2008, Mellow Johnny’s has evolved alongside Austin’s transformation from a modest downtown with limited cycling infrastructure into a bustling metropolis with a thriving, diverse cycling community. Originally opened by Lance Armstrong and Bart Knaggs with the goal of creating a central hub for cycling culture, the shop was designed to be more than just a retail space—it was meant to embody Austin’s outdoor spirit and active lifestyle. From knowing nearly every local road cyclist in its early days, the shop has grown into a welcoming space for all types of riders, from commuters and mountain bikers to gravel racers and young kids just learning to ride.
