In the late 1990s, Kunstadt Sports seized the opportunity to establish a highly successful boutique and ski rental business at Calabogie Peaks. Around the same time, a sports shop with locations in Arnprior and Renfrew closed, allowing Kunstadt Sports to acquire its inventory and goodwill, leading to the opening of a store in downtown Renfrew. However, when the chance arose to open a store on Bank Street South in Ottawa, the strategic decision was made to close the Renfrew location and concentrate on the Ottawa market. Despite its success, the Calabogie venture was eventually discontinued. Additionally, Kunstadt Sports operated tennis boutiques at The Ottawa Tennis and Lawn Bowling Club and The Rideau Tennis Club (now the Rideau Sports Centre – RSC), two of Ottawa’s most historic and well-regarded tennis clubs.
