About:
Jax Bicycle Center
Jax Bicycle Center began in 1971 when Jack Salem opened a small Long Beach bike shop that grew into four respected locations. Around the same time, Dave Hanson entered the bike industry as a teen, working his way up from floor sweeper to shop owner. In the late 1980s, he bought La Habra Cyclery, followed by Village Bicycle Shop in Yorba Linda.
In 1997, Dave purchased the Jax Fullerton location, and by 1999, he had acquired the remaining three Jax stores and the brand name. Focused on growth and innovation, he expanded to nine locations across Southern California by 2016, including new stores in Claremont, Murrieta, Laguna Niguel, and San Clemente. Today, Jax remains a leader in local bicycle retail.
