About:
Adventure Cycling
Adventure Cycling, based in Aurora, Colorado near the Cherry Creek State Park and the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, has deep roots in both cycling and community. The shop’s legacy traces back to Frank Barvik Senior, a former professional road cyclist from Hungary who immigrated to the U.S. in 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution. After settling in Denver, he established the city’s first bike shop focused on professional-grade bicycles and service.
Building on that legacy, Adventure Cycling was founded on April 1, 1984, by Susanne, Pete, and Peter Schones, along with Susanne’s brother, John Barvik, becoming Aurora’s first dedicated road bike shop. Since its founding, Adventure Cycling has remained committed to professional bicycle sales and delivering exceptional customer service to cyclists of all levels.
